Yard waste collection extended for two weeks
Hamtramck trees don't want to let go

Hamtramck trees apparently don’t want to let go of warm weather.
Area trees are running late in dropping their leaves, which has now forced Hamtramck to extend its yard waste collection another two weeks.
Next Monday and the Monday after (Dec. 1) are the last days for throwing out leaves and other yard waste.
It will cost the city an extra $7,000 for the extension. City Manager William Cooper said that when the contract for garbage collection is renewed for next year yard waste collection will be extended through the first week of December.
During the past weekend it appears the wind, rain and snow caused many trees to shed their leaves. But there are still some stubborn ones with leaves still remaining green.
